Welcome back!

As you can see, things have been changing for the ministry. The previous home of a.t passed away a couple of months ago, and our gracious new host George Leite of CatholicJukebox.com has offered this new space for use. A HUGE thank you to you, my friend!

Current a.t projects include:
Logo design for Rise
Logo design for Catholic Rockers podcast
Web site design for the Catholic Rockers street team (yer talkin' to its president)

Also in the works is a photography portfolio for yours truly. It'll probably be located at the popular art collective deviantart.com, and will of course be linked here. A beautiful black Cannon SLR Digital Rebel XT was purchased as my high school graduation gift to myself (ha) this past weekend, and it should be arriving this week. (Thanks to all my awesome relatives who've shown their support!) I've been asked about designing a web site for a local Knights of Columbus insurance agent, so we'll see how all that goes.

As for what's been up with me, as mentioned, I recently graduated from the 64th-best high school in the nation as magna cum laude. My parish Knights of Columbus chapter has also awarded me a college scholarship. Aaaand, as I found out, St. Mary's University is actually giving me so much financial aid that I'm getting paid to go to college. Extra. Yeah, it's amazing.

God has really blessed me and this ministry more than I could have imagined. The only thing I'm really lacking right now (I know, it sounds horrible, but it's true) is Photoshop. I have no Photoshop now that my high school is closed to students. Thus, I am working in MICROSOFT PAINT and thus, my image quality is seriously suffering. Sooo, let's hope a miracle happens and I can somehow get my hands on Photoshop.

Don't forget to sign up for the email updates list on the contact page! May God bless you all, my friends.

[+] Ministry news:

RISE has an album cover. Thanks be to God that it came out parallel to the vision of the band! I'm so excited for the guys. This new CD will surely open doors for them and the hearts of their listeners. And how exciting is it to have helped these talented Catholic musicians with their work?!

I am honored to inform you all that my dear brother in Christ and vocalist for the ground-breaking Catholic band Seven Sorrows, Mike, has blessed the ministry in a great way. The Office of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of San Bernadino, CA has been looking for someone to design their website, and Mike has suggested not only my amazing host Marco Velasquez & Prolific Design, but also little old me here at angelus.tuus!! I have not yet been contacted by the Diocese, but according to Mike, it may take a while after the start of the new year. Whatever happens, I am truly grateful to Mike and to God. I pray that whatever happens does so in the very best interest of the OYM.

[+] Angela news:

Lately, two things have been coming back to me. The first is my future in higher education. My first choice of which is St. Mary's University, an amazing Marian-founded private school here in the town that I love so much. My application to the U will be complete very soon, and I hope to hear from the Office of Admissions reguarding their decision in early February!

I aim to double-major in Theology and English/Communication Arts so as to prepare myself for what I believe is God's plan for my life: strengthening youth ministry by way of the utilization of the media. Just yesterday, a local millionaire and alumnus donated $25 million to the University! That means more scholarship money! :D

Secondly, Mother Mary has truly been aiding me in my vocational discernment. She has urged me to pray the Rosary every day and spend time listening to Daddy speaking to my heart. All of this has really helped me be at peace and trust in His love.

I've been looking at religious orders lately, but I always come back to the Daughters of Saint Paul because of their mission. It is so obvious that they are living for the same reason that I am, but I am still not sure whether I am truly called to the religous life. I ask that you please remember me in your prayers.

Have a blessed Advent and Christmas, everyone!

Current project: Album cover design for RISE.
-------------------
This past Thursday, I was blessed and honored to attend a design meeting with my mentor, Shari Biediger, senior editor for U-Turn magazine. We drove downtown to Toolbox Studios, a nationally-recognized, award-winning design studio that I have been a fan of since I first saw their work.
While there, I learned so much about the relationship between design and publication from Creative Director Paul Soupiset. It was an awesome experience because for the first time, I could actually realistically see myself doing what I've felt God calling me to do for a long time: head a magazine for Catholic youth.
I hope to continue a relationship with Paul and Toolbox, and hopefully land an internship there while at university.
---------------------
Thank you for your continued prayer and support for this ministry. God bless.

Freely, according to your own interests and talents, you have to take an active, effective part in the wholesome public or private associations of your country, in a way that is full of the Christian spirit. Such organizations never fail to make some difference to people's temporal or eternal good.
– St. Josemaria Escriva, The Forge, #717

Amen. Please spread the word about this ministry, as it is an important part of artists' success and appeal to today's world!
